This article gives a solution to errors upon trying to install a newer version of an extension.
If you experience any errors upon trying to install an update of an extension, you will need to undeploy the previous version then navigate to this folder for Windchill File System:
\Windchill\wex\deploy\
Then copy the .wex you would like to install into this folder and perform a server restart. This will deploy any .wex found within the folder when Windchill starts.
